<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate a shift reaction to convert CO to CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>as well as to suppress a temperature rise in the CO shift reaction in a shift reactor in which CO in coal gasification gas is converted to CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, to thereby extend the lifetimes of a conversion catalyst and the shift reactor. <P>SOLUTION: This method for recovering CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>includes: a shift step provided with a shift reactor containing a catalyst for conversion of CO in produced gas by gasification of a carbon-containing solid fuel to CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>; and a CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>recovery step provided with an absorption tower in which the produced gas containing the converted CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>is absorbed in an absorbing liquid, and a regeneration tower in which the absorbed CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>is separated and the absorbing liquid is regenerated. The shift reactor is packed with the CO conversion catalyst for conversion of CO in produced gas to CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>and a methane reforming catalyst or a methanol reforming catalyst for conversion of methane or methanol in produced gas to H<SB POS="POST">2</SB>and CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, wherein the temperature of produced gas whose temperature is raised by a shift conversion reaction which is an exothermic reaction under the CO conversion catalyst is lowered by a reforming reaction which is an endothermic reaction under the reforming catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
