<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing a foreign matter from being nipped between a belt body and a sheet type transfer member, when a toner is transferred from an image carrier to the belt body or a recording material carried by the belt body by using the sheet type transfer member. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 transfers a toner from an image carrier to a belt body 20 or a recording material P carried by a belt body 35 by using a sheet type transfer member 5. The image forming apparatus 100 is configured to satisfy the relationship of μ<tan θ (where θ is in the range of 0≤θ≤90°), relating to the coefficient μ of static friction between the sheet type transfer member 5 and the material of the belt body 20, and to an angle θ of a normal vector in a direction from a surface 5B1 adjoining to a contact part of the sheet type transfer member 5 to a face of the sheet type transfer member 5 not in contact with the belt body, with respect to a vector in the gravitational direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
