摘要 [Object to be achieved by the invention] In a brake system including two brake lines, making it possible to output a total braking force even when one of the two brake lines fails, such that a magnitude of the outputted total braking force corresponds to 1/2 of a magnitude of that in case of normality of both of the two brake lines. [Measures for achieving the object] Front, rear, left-side and right-side wheels 16, 18, 12, 14 are located in respective positions corresponding to respective corners of a diamond shape. A first brake line 70 is constituted by elements such as a pressurizing chamber 50 and brake cylinders 54 provided for the respective front and rear wheels 16, 18. A second brake line 72 is constituted by elements such as a pressurizing chamber 52 and brake cylinders 54 provided for the respective left-side and right-side wheels 12, 14. Further, since a sum f 2 of road holding forces given to the respective left-side and right-side wheels 12, 14 and a sum (f 1 + f 3 ) of road holding forces given to the respective front and rear wheels 16, 18 are equal to each other, a maximum braking force outputtable in the first brake line 70 and a maximum braking force outputtable in the second brake line 72 are equal to each other {(f 1 + f 3 )·µ l = f 2 ·µ}. Consequently, in the event of failure of one of the brake lines, it is possible to output a total braking force whose magnitude corresponds to 1/2 of a magnitude of that in case of normality of both of the two brake lines.
