A two-piece sheet metal roller bearing cage comprises a carrier member 1 of substantially Z-shape cross-section, having windows receiving rollers 9, and a sheet metal guide band 2, having windows and guide lugs 8 for the rollers, the guide band 2 being secured to the carrier member 1. For a cylindrical roller bearing having guide shoulders on its inner race, the guide band 2 is secured around the carrier member 1, as shown in Fig. 1, and for a bearing having guide shoulders on its outer race the guide band is secured internally of the carrier member 1. In addition, the guide band may be provided with guide lugs which contact the ends of the rollers. The members 1 and 2 may be secured together by welding, riveting, cementing, soldering or brazing. The guide band may be composed of a plurality of pieces.</p> |
