An exercise assembly simulating the muscular movements of a kayaker includes an elongate seat resiliently mounted on an elongate spine structure structure supported on adjustable pedestals that are each further resiliently mounted. At the front end an adjustably aligned pivot engages through a U-joint a simulated kayak paddle with the motion of the pivot resisted by restricted orifice cylinders mounted in the spine structure. A generally uniform adjustment arrangement is utilized to conform the assembly to the various users and/or various exercise levels.
