The slicer has a stop plate (2) movable relative to a housing (1) for adjusting slice thickness of a cutting product i.e. food product, to be sliced. An adjustment unit (3) includes a threaded piece (4) with an internal thread (5) and another threaded piece (6) with an external thread (7) intervening into the internal thread. A clamping unit (11) e.g. hose clip, is designed such that the clamping unit presses the threaded pieces in sections to each other in a radial direction, to reduce play of connection of the pieces. The former piece exhibits segments (9a) movable relatively to each other. The clamping unit is designed as a pipe clamp, spring ring or as an elastomer ring.
