<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further precisely detect a conversion coefficient for converting an image shift amount into a defocus amount by a simple calculation. <P>SOLUTION: The focus detection device includes an image sensor (10) that receives an image formed by light passing through different pupil areas of a photographic lens (5) including a focus lens, outputs a pair of image signals, and converts a shift amount into the defocus amount of the photographic lens by multiplying the shift amount of the pair of image signals output from the image sensor by the conversion coefficient. The focus detection method in the focus detection device includes: acquiring the pair of image signals (S102 and S103) at each of different first and second lens positions (L1 and L2) of the focus lens; and calculating the conversion coefficient (S104 and S105) based on respective moving amounts (Za and Zb) of the pair of image signals obtained at the first and second lens positions and a moving amount (ΔDef) of the focus lens to the first and second lens positions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
