<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network device capable of processing maintenance packets received from a commercial network. <P>SOLUTION: A network device (1) comprises: a main CPU (11) which processes the maintenance packets received through a maintenance network; and a sub CPU (12) which processes commercial packets received through the commercial network, and the device transmits and receives data between the main CPU and the sub CPU via IP communication. The sub CPU (12) includes: determination means (packet determination function 121) which determines whether or not the commercial packets are preset maintenance packets; and a network address port translation (NAPT) function (122) which converts a destination address of the packets into an address for internal communication of the main CPU when the determination means determines the commercial packets as the maintenance packets.
