<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous film which prevents inorganic particles in a porous layer from dropping, has high air permeability, and exhibits superior battery characteristics when used as a separator. <P>SOLUTION: At least one surface of the porous resin film has a porous layer containing inorganic particles When the width of the porous layer containing inorganic particles is W1 and the width of the porous resin film is W2, W1<W2 is satisfied.
