<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an HDMI repeater device in which a high-frequency gain can automatically be adjusted to an optimal value while the constitution is simple. <P>SOLUTION: First authentication determination means 4 monitors a DDC signal of a line 18 and determines whether HDCP first authentication is to be performed. If it is determined that the HDCP first authentication is to be performed, high-frequency gain adjustment means 6 adjusts the high-frequency gain of an equalizer 2.
