<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display device capable of displaying a parallax image with a great parallax number. <P>SOLUTION: An illumination unit includes a plurality of illumination units for emitting light beams in a plurality of emission directions. A display unit is provided at a position opposed to the illumination unit and displays a parallax image corresponding to a plurality of parallax directions for the light beam in one direction among the plurality of emission directions by a plurality of sub pixels arranged.
