<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve load resistance, water resistance and dust resistance in an operation device for vehicles having a rotation operation unit which can be rotatably operated. <P>SOLUTION: Two lengthy apertures 151 and 152 facing each other in parallel are formed on the upper surface part of a case of the operation device for vehicles. Rod-like rollers 61 and 62 supported to be rotatable around their own axes are disposed at the apertures 151 and 152. A shaft 50 supported to be rotatable around its own axis is disposed in arrangement space 31 within the case. A belt operation unit 16, which is a rotation operation unit with a strip-shaped belt made into a ring, is hung around the outsides of the rollers 61 and 62 and the shaft 50 so that part of the belt runs in parallel with an operation face 121d. An encoder plate is connected to the end part of the shaft 50. A detection unit for detecting operation of the belt operation unit 16 by detecting rotation of the encoder plate, and a substrate on which the detection unit is installed are arranged in the vicinity of the encoder plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
