PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the number of specific microorganisms in a sample.SOLUTION: A microorganism number measuring apparatus comprises: a measuring chamber 6; a sample solution supplying part 61; a measuring solution supplying part 62; a measuring electrode 14; a magnetic field generating part 17; and a controlling part 23. The measuring electrode 14 is provided in the measuring chamber 6 and electrically measures the number of specific microorganisms. The magnetic field generating part 17 is provided in the measuring chamber 6 and collects the specific microorganisms contained in a sample solution 37 to a collecting bacteria region 13 provided so as to overlap at least part of the measuring electrode 14 or near the measuring electrode 14. The controlling part 23 collects bacteria 18 to the collecting bacteria region 13 with the magnetic field generating part 17 in a state of supplying the sample solution in the measuring chamber 6 with the sample solution supplying part 61, and then controls to measure the number of bacteria 18 with the measuring electrode 14 in a state of supplying a measuring solution in the measuring chamber 6 with the measuring solution supplying part 62.
