Diversity antenna system

The system (1) has a ground plane (2) on which planar inverted folded antenna (PIFA) type radiating elements (3, 4) and an inter-element decoupling disabling line (9) are arranged. The ground plane is provided with a printed-circuit board, and the disabling line is suspended between the elements. The disabling line is associated to an active component (10) e.g. varicap diode, controllable capacitive load mounted transistor and controllable inductor, having controllable characteristic impedance e.g. voltage controllable characteristic impedance, to control inter-elements decoupling frequency.
