PURPOSE: A financial terminal and terminal controller connection method using the same are provided to reduce back-up time by automatically connecting to an online BP(Branch Processor) or a back-up BP. CONSTITUTION: A control unit recognizes connection environment connected to a server, determines BP connection routine according to the connection environment. A communication unit communicates with the server, an online BP(203) and a back-up BP(206) through a dedicated network and a VPN(Virtual Private Network). The control unit automatically attempts to connect to the online BP or the back-up BP without receiving a network connection control signal from outside by using the communication unit according to the BP connection routine.
