<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid ejection head, or the like, provided with a piezoelectric element having a small environmental load, an improved amount of distortion, and good piezoelectric characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid ejection head includes a pressure generation chamber 622 communicating with a nozzle hole 612, and a piezoelectric element 100 having a piezoelectric layer 20 and electrodes 10, 30 that apply a voltage to the piezoelectric layer 20. The piezoelectric layer 20 consists of a complex oxide having perovskite-type structure. The complex oxide contains bismuth, sodium and barium as A site elements, and contains zinc and titanium as B site elements. When the ratio of zinc to the total amount of B site elements is α, and the ratio of barium to the total amount of A site elements is β, α and β satisfy a relation 2α+β≤45 mol%, and α is 2.5 mol% or higher and β is 3.5 mol% or higher. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
