The powertrain has an internal combustion engine (1) and a hydraulic drive device integrated in a functional unit. The device is integrated into a lubricant circuit (5) of the engine. The device comprises a hydrostatic drive (10), a pressure reservoir (15) e.g. hydraulic reservoir, and a vane machine. The machine is operated as a pump or motor in opposite rotation directions and/or in different operation modes. The device is operated using a lubricant i.e. oil, of the engine. The device is integrated into a hydraulic drive circuit of a power-split transmission.
