PURPOSE: A character input apparatus, a controlling method thereof, and recording medium are provided to prevent degradation of usability by stopping an automatic complete function in case the visually disabled person inputs a character in a voice guide mode. CONSTITUTION: A completing unit presumes a character string based on an inputted character and completes the inputted character string by adding the presumed character string to a complementary part. A voice guide unit supplies selected key information through voice guide. A control unit(2000) controls the completing unit and does not perform the completion of the inputted character string.
