PURPOSE: A self-healing battery is provided to physically separate abnormal cells from a battery system through a switching part safely, thereby recovering battery function. CONSTITUTION: A self-healing battery system(100) comprises: a battery pack(110) equipped with a switching part(130) corresponding to a plurality of respective cells; a sensing part(120) sensing the state of the battery pack; a detection part(230) formed to detect abnormal cells in the plurality of cells by using sensed information; an interface part(220) converting the sensed information to a recognizable signal, and transmitting the signal to the detection part; and a control part controlling the switching part corresponding to the abnormal cells in order to form a current path detouring the abnormal cells.
