<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a probe type device, manufactured simply and inexpensively, softly holding a cell or the like, and easily releasing it after the operation. <P>SOLUTION: In this device, a pipette 1, a wire 2 disposed up to the tip in the interior of the pipette and the outer periphery of the pipette are covered with a thin film 3 of a conductor, and voltage is applied between the wire and the thin film of the conductor to thereby generate Joule heat at the tip of the probe type device.
