<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pad as an accessory for using an existing small device having an imaging unit as a pointing device at a limited use place, and a pointing device using the optical pad. <P>SOLUTION: An optical pad 31 includes a pad body 32 and a light source 3. The pad body 32 has, on its top portion, a device mounting surface 32a as a surface where a small device 100 having an imaging unit 101 is operated, and forms a light-dark pattern 10 on the device mounting surface 32a with light emitted from the light source 3. A pointing device is composed of the optical pad 31 and the small device 100 having the imaging unit 101. The small device 100 images the light-dark pattern 10 formed on the device mounting surface 32a, and detects a movement amount on the basis of displacement of images generated by moving the small device on the device mounting surface 32a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
