<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle lighting system that can automatically control illumination distribution and light distribution in a cabin according to a vehicle situation or an occupant condition, and can raise a visual sense effect given to an occupant by lighting rendition, and to provide its control method. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle lighting system determines an occupant's trend ranging from the time of boarding to the time of alighting by a controller 20 based on detecting actions of various sensors 22-27 which detect vehicle situations, such as a door opening and closing condition, a door lock condition, an ignition condition, a shift lever condition, etc. estimates each time, a lighting mode which the occupant wants out of a plurality of lighting modes A-E programmed beforehand, and operates indoor lamps 11, 12, 13 corresponding to the modes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
