<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phenol resin binder composition capable of increasing hardening speed. <P>SOLUTION: The binder composition for forming a binder layer on the surface of a refractory aggregate in a binder coated refractory formed by coating a binder layer on the surface of a refractory aggregate is characterized in that the principal component of the binder is phenol resin and at the same time, polyhydric phenol selected from among dihydric phenol and trihydric phenol is contained by 1 to 60 mass% in the phenol resin, which is the principal component of the binder. By dihydric phenol or trihydric phenol being contained in the phenol resin, the time required for the phenol resin to turn into gel is shortened, and therefore, it is possible to further increase the hardening speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
