<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly perform an OPC in a recorder in which an ATS performs tracking servo about a recording light. <P>SOLUTION: A mark string by a pitch being two times or more as long as a distance between an irradiation spot of recording light and an irradiation spot of ATS light is formed as a pre-recording mark string that should be formed on a recording layer in advance in order to perform trial writing of an OPC. Trial writing can be performed between pre-recording mark strings by performing trial writing by recording light while the pre-recording mark strings are subjected to an adjacent track servo by ATS light in this manner. By performing an adjacent track servo similar to during trial writing, reading (evaluation) of a signal subjected to trial writing can be performed by using an irradiation spot (regeneration power) of recording light, consequently avoiding a state in which a tracking servo has to be applied to a mark string subjected to trial writing as an object as in the conventional practice. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
