<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of achieving highly precise exposure scanning by suppressing heat deformation of a resin housing and preventing displacement of a relative position of an optical component disposed on the resin housing. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical scanner storing a polygon mirror 3 and a polygon motor 4 rotatingly driving the polygon mirror 3, outside a resin housing 2 disposed with various types of optical components, the polygon motor 4 is disposed on a motor base 8 that has a separate body from the resin housing 2 and has a thermal conductivity higher than that of the resin housing 2 and is covered with a motor cover 9 that has a separate body from the resin housing 2 and has a thermal conductivity lower than that of the motor base 8.
