The purpose of the present invention is to restrict the range in which communication can be established within the range of the signals used for wireless communication. A wireless access point superimposes establishment information, which is used to establish a wireless communication path between a communication terminal and the wireless access point, onto acoustic signals (S1, S2), and emits an audio wave corresponding to the acoustic signal from a speaker (S3). A communication terminal acquires the acoustic signal expressing the audio wave detected by a microphone, and extracts, from the acquired acoustic signal, the establishment information containing an SSID, an encryption key, and an expiration period for the encryption key (S4, S5). The communication terminal sends the extracted establishment information to the wireless access point, establishes a wireless communication path between the communication terminal and the wireless access point, and communicates via the established wireless communication path (S6 to S8). The establishment information is distributed in the area delimited by the range of the audio waves emitted from the speaker; therefore, the area in which it is possible to perform wireless communication becomes substantially smaller than the actual range of the signals for performing wireless communication with the wireless access point. |
