<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of conventional alcohol-retaining bodies that in absorbing a required amount of alcohol there exist defects of the bulkiness of the whole food preservation tool becoming large, weak gelling power to ethanol, and problems in downsizing, weight reduction of food preservation tool, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The resin composition for production of alcohol-retaining foam comprises a liquid absorption resin (B) comprising a resin (Z) obtained by crosslinking following polymer (A) and a foaming agent (C), wherein (B) has a melt viscosity of 100-100,000 Pa s at 160°C and a shear rate of 100 sec<SP POS="POST">-1</SP>, and a liquid absorption amount of 10-1,000 g/g relative to the amount of ion exchange water.
