An automatic retraction apparatus (4) for a second furniture part, for example a pull-out furniture part, a sliding door or the like, which can be moved relative to a stationary first furniture part, for example a furniture body, wherein the automatic retraction apparatus has a housing (5) with a driver (7) which can be moved in said housing within limits and which driver is coupled to a spring-like force storage means (8), and the driver (7) tensions the force storage means (6) when the second furniture part is moved from a home or closed position, and in the process forms a driver connection with an activator (11), this driver connection being broken as the second furniture part is moved further and, in the process, the driver (7) being simultaneously blocked from moving, and this blocking can be cancelled only by renewed coupling of the activator (11) to the driver (7), after which the second furniture part is returned to its home or closed position by the force storage means (8), is formed such that a coupling part for establishing a coupled connection to the activator (11) in the form of at least one lever (13) is provided on the driver (7), it being possible for said lever firstly to be pivoted about a bearing pin (12) which is situated in a movement line A of the activator (11) and secondly to be forcibly guided by means of a guide pin (16), which engages in an elongate hole (15) in its end region which is adjacent to a side wall (10) of the housing (5) and is attached to the driver (7), in such a way that that end of the lever (13) which faces the side wall (10) can be inserted into a cutout (17) in the side wall (10) and can also be moved out of this cutout (17) again, wherein the lever (13) is provided with a tail hook (14) adjacent to its bearing pin (12), said tail hook engaging behind the activator when the lever (13) is moved out of the recess (17) in the side wall (10) and therefore being coupled to the driver (7) and releasing the activator (11) in the movement direction when the lever (13) engages in the recess (17).
