<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and the like capable of preventing appearance of display noise at an initial scanning frame after the power application. <P>SOLUTION: This display device includes a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix of row and column. Each pixel includes a pixel electrode, a display element, a retention volume connected to the display element by the pixel electrode, and a switching element. The display device has a retention volume line drive unit that switches, in synchronization with a scanning operation for scanning each pixel for every row, between two values of a potential appearing in each of electrodes that is connected to a retention volume line facing to and corresponding to the pixel electrode via the retention volume per column unit. The retention volume line drive unit sets each of the retention volume lines in such a manner as to take one of the two values before an initial scanning operation after the power application of the device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
