Stabilisation of rhodium carbonyl complexes - by addn of carboxylic acid esters

Rhodium carbonyl complexes contd. in Oxo reaction mixts. as catalysts are stabilised by addn. of carboxylic acid - beta - or gamma - formyl alkyl esters of alpha - or beta - formylalkane carboxylic acid esters. the Rh complexes no longer decompose to Rh metal on distn. of the Oxo reaction mixt. and can be recovered and use again without loss of activity.
