The method involves making a U-shaped tubular extension (4) from a covering material by a seam. The tubular extension is turned over to turn a side face of the extension toward an exterior of a motor vehicle. A long linear-shaped liner (3) is made from the covering material by the seam and provided with an opening. The tubular extension in turned over arrangement is arranged inside the liner. The extension is passed through the opening for turning over the liner to obtain a cover (2). An independent claim is also included for a headrest including a cover.
