An adjustable shoulder bolt comprises a nut member 28 and a stud member 21 of circular cross-section, the stud member being externally threaded at both ends 22, 23 and having a body section of uniform diameter which is larger than the major diameter of either thread end sections the body section at one end terminating in a shoulder 24 lying in a plane perpendicular to the stud axis, the nut being in threaded engagement with the other threaded end 23, the nut having a deep counterbore 29 of a diameter greater than the diameter of the body section and the threaded end 23 having a wrench receiving surface 32 for applying torque to the stud. The outer surface of the nut may also be shaped to receive a wrench. Locking inserts may be provided at the stud and nut threads to hold the nut and stud in locked relationship.</p> |
