A method of manufacturing cylindrical castings in permanent moulds includes preparation and assembly of a mould, pouring metal in the mould, cooling and removing the casting from the mould. As a charge 100 % of recycled material is used. After melting the charge in a vacuum induction furnace temperature-time processing the melt is performed, which includes overheating the melt for 300- above the melting point, and holding under the temperature for 10 minutes. After that, through a pouring cup, in which the constant hydrostatic pressure is maintained, the melt is poured into the metal mold with a thermal insulating insert in its deadhead. |
