PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for modifying bandwidth extension pre-emphasis and inter-symbol interference are provided to prevent an increase of bit error rate of a system. CONSTITUTION: A central processing unit(60) generates a user interface on a display. The user interface establishes one or more parameters with respect to a serial data pattern, a bandwidth extension pre-emphasis effect, and an inter-symbol interference effect with respect to the serial data pattern. The central processing unit generates a waveform record file using a serial data pattern parameter, an inter-symbol interference effect parameter, and a bandwidth extension pre-emphasis effect parameter. A waveform generation circuit(70) receives the waveform record file and generates a serial data pattern analog output signal. The waveform generation circuit has one or more effects among the inter-symbol interference effect, an inter-symbol interference effect defined by the bandwidth extension pre-emphasis effect parameter, and the bandwidth extension pre-emphasis effect. |
