<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device and method that can easily achieve and reflect a user observation illumination environment in softproof processing of reproducing an image of a printed matter under observation illumination. <P>SOLUTION: Installation information and light emission information of user observation illumination are achieved by a UI unit 17. In a proof data generator 13, illumination image data corresponding to the installation information is selected by an environment data holding unit 12, and filter processing using a low pass filter generated in accordance with a deflection reflection characteristic of a medium is executed on the selected illumination image data to generate blur image data. In accordance with the light emission information of the observation illumination, an image processor 15 first corrects a gloss component and a diffusion component of each color which is held for the medium in advance. With respect to each pixel of a proof target image, the difference between the gloss component and the diffusion component after the correction is multiplied by the blur image data corresponding to the pixel position in accordance with the color of the pixel, and further added with the diffusion component to calculate a proof color of the pixel concerned, whereby a proof image is generated and displayed on a display unit 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
