The floating device has a plunger (4) with a plunger foot (18) at the end of the plunger and is brought into a transport position and a working position. A force applicator (27) applies a force in the direction of a water bottom over a plunger on the water bottom, when the plunger in working position. A positioning device is provided, where position of the plunger foot is adjusted relative to the water bottom. An independent claim is also included for a method for pressing an object into a water bottom.
