摘要 <p>In an internal combustion engine of a compression hypergolic type, in which fuel injected from a fuel injection valve into a cylinder burns in the cylinder, and as a fuel injection operation from the fuel injection valve, a main injection for a main combustion and an auxiliary injection which is carried out before the main injection are capable of being conducted, the amount of fuel injection of the auxiliary injection is obtained from the amount of fuel for preheating combustion that attains requested ignition temperature for the main combustion and the amount of fuel for premixing combustion for reducing exhaust emission. Then, on the basis of the amount of fuel for the preheating combustion, a preheating combustion time period is obtained in accordance with a gas state in the cylinder and/or a spray state of the fuel, and on the basis of the preheating combustion time period and a requested ignition timing of the main combustion, an injection timing of the auxiliary injection is determined, thereby causing an end of the preheating combustion time period to coincide with an ignition timing of the main combustion. By determining the injection timing of the auxiliary injection as described above, at the time of an operation transition or the like, it is also possible to give appropriate preheating amount and premixing combustion to the ignition timing of the main combustion.</p>
