<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress image quality degradation by controlling fluctuation of a discharging amount caused by a temperature rise of a recording head also when variation of thermal conduction characteristics of the head exists. <P>SOLUTION: The ink jet recording apparatus mounts a recording head 2 which can discharge an ink by utilizing a thermal energy generated when a drive pulse is given to an electrothermal transducer. The ink jet recording apparatus records an image by giving ink droplets discharged from the recording head 2 to a recording medium. The recording apparatus further includes a temperature sensor 9 for detecting a temperature of the recording head, and a control means (17 and 20) which controls a pulse waveform that forms the drive pulse, a pulse width and a voltage. Particularly the control means has information related to the thermal conduction characteristics of the recording head 2 stored therein, and controls the drive pulse according to the information related to the thermal conduction characteristics and the temperature of the recording head 2 detected by the temperature sensor 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
