<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system capable of providing information to a user at appropriate timing and enabling the user to easily find a commodity desired by the user. <P>SOLUTION: An information providing system 10 comprises: a server device 2; a plurality of RF tags 3 which are capable of wide-range radio communication with the server device 2 and short-distance communication having a communication range narrower than that of the wide-range communication; and a portable terminal 1 which is carried by a user and which can perform wide-range communication with the server device 2 and short-distance communication with the RF tags 3. When short-distance communication has been established between an RF tag 3 and the portable terminal 1, the server device 2 is able to provide the portable terminal 1 with information according to a commodity corresponding to the RF tag 3 between which and the portable terminal 1 the short-distance communication with has been established. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
