<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of solving an overlapping state between display elements on a two-dimensional map at high speed with a minimized calculation quantity. <P>SOLUTION: The duplication avoidance program makes a computer execute processing of fixing, when an overlapping is caused between tags 40 in disposing a plurality of tags 40 each having a unique area on a two-dimensional map with a set area based on the unique coordinate value of each tag 40, the current position of the tag 40 having the largest area, and moving the tags 40 smaller in area than this tag in any one direction of vertical and longitudinal directions in the descending order of the area according to the following rules to avoid the overlapping with the tag 40 fixed in position. (1) The direction in which the moving distance is shortest is preferentially selected. (2) The direction of overlapping with the fixed tag 40 is not selectable. (3) When the overlapping with the fixed tag 40 is caused in any one direction, the direction in which the overlapping area is minimized is selected.
