The present invention is directed to a platform device adapted for carrying and deploying portable items comprising: a rigid surface plate adapted for placement of the portable items; and a support mechanism adapted for supporting said surface plate carrying said items in a static mode and/or in a portable mode, wherein in a portable mode said support mechanism is further attached to a body worn harness. The platform device maintains a substantially horizontal configuration when harness is worn by a user.
