The present invention relates to an improved method for recovering hydrocarbons trapped in hydrate formations. In an embodiment, a method for producing hydrocarbons from a hydrate-bearing subterranean reservoir includes: (a) introducing a releasing agent into the subterranean reservoir, wherein the releasing agent liquid carbon dioxide; (b) injecting a reagent into the subterranean reservoir, wherein the reagent is intermittently injected into the subterranean channel, wherein the reagent is nitrogen: and (C) recovering the released hydrocarbons from the subterranean reservoir.
