<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water cleaner that suppresses early deterioration of a main slit filter by providing a prefilter, reduces running cost and allows easy confirmation of the contamination state of the prefilter from the outside of a casing 22. <P>SOLUTION: The casing 22 includes a filter cartridge 28 containing a slit filter for purifying water. The casing 22 includes a prefilter 37 formed of the slit filter so as to be positioned upstream of the filter cartridge 28.
