<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snubber circuit that allows reduction in manufacturing cost and higher efficiency of a boost converter. <P>SOLUTION: A boost converter 1a includes rectifying means 3, a first coil 4, a switching element 5, and rectifying/smoothing means 6 and 7. The boost converter 1a is provided with a snubber circuit 10. The snubber circuit 10 has: a series circuit that includes a first diode 13 and a capacitor 12 and is connected in parallel with the first coil 4; and a series circuit that includes a second coil 11 and a second diode 14 and is connected in parallel with a series circuit that includes the capacitor 12 and the switching element 5. The first coil 4 and the second coil 11 are transformer windings wrapped around a core. When the switching element 5 is turned on, the capacitor 12 discharges through the switching element 5, the second diode 14, and the second coil 11, resulting in generation of induced voltage and storage of energy, in the first coil 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
