<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer capacitor which allows the reduction of electric power loss without sacrificing a low inductance. <P>SOLUTION: A multilayer capacitor 10 has first to fourth belt-like external electrodes 12-15 identical with each other in width, which are disposed along directions orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of a sintered compact 11 and extend around the sintered compact 11 along the external surface thereof. The polarities that the adjacent external electrodes are provided with are different from each other. In the sintered compact 11, a first internal conductor layer 16 and a second internal conductor layer 17 are disposed alternately, which are provided with different polarities.
