PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PM type stepping motor that adjusts coexistence of enhancement in precision of the static angle of a rotor and insurance of torque delicately, and increases the design flexibility for making them coexist. SOLUTION: The measuring side of a tooth pole 100 has a profile consisting of an area AR1 in the shape of a re-entering curve on the distal end side, and an area AR2 in the shape of a salient curve on the base side, so that a wide side can be formed on the distal end side while a narrow side can be formed on the base side with a smooth curve and thereby precision of the static angle can be enhanced while maintaining the torque characteristics. A trade-off relationship exists between enhancement in torque characteristics and enhancement in precision of the static angle, but the measuring side of a tooth pole has a profile consisting of a re-entering curve and a salient curve, so that the torque characteristics and the precision of static angle can be adjusted delicately and the design flexibility can be increased.
