<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus and an image forming apparatus capable of performing beautiful printing without causing disturbance on output of optical detection elements, even when a glossy document with a reflective surface is set on a document table in an inclined state at a prescribed angle. <P>SOLUTION: In an image reading apparatus having a light detection element for each color to constitute a light detector being disposed with a distance to each other in a sub-scanning direction of the incident light within the light detector, light emitted from light source enters a document after being reflected by one or more reflectors, and light reflected by the document enters the light detector through a prescribed optical path. The image reading apparatus and an image forming apparatus include light absorption means to absorb a part or all of light reflected at a reflection surface of the reflector provided at the reflection surface of the reflector on an optical path where light totally reflected from the document enters the light detection element for each color when a glossy document with a reflective surface is set on a document table in an inclined state at a prescribed angle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
