<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light shielding device which enables a person to easily confirm the correctness and wrongness of the selection of a received configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The light shielding device has a plurality of units including a slat part (light shielding part) 3, a drive part 2 for operating the slat part 3 and a power supply part 4, and has a control part 1 for controlling the drive part 2. The control part 1 receives the selection of the model of the respective units using a switch, and sets a control method for controlling the drive part 2 corresponding to the received selection. In the case that the received selection of the model of the respective units does not match the fact, when controlling the drive part 2 and making the slat part 3 execute an operation corresponding to the unit for which the selection does not match the fact, the control part 1 stops the operation in the middle.
