A production method for a mixed gas of hydrogen and carbon monoxide uses, in a decomposition of gaseous methanol, a solid granular catalyst having a metal content after calcination at 600°C of 35-40 mass% copper, 29-34 mass% chrome, 1.5-3.5 mass% manganese, and 1-3 mass% barium. Provided is a method using the decomposition of gaseous methanol to produce, with high volumetric efficiency and high selectivity, a mixed gas of hydrogen and carbon monoxide useful as a source material for producing aldehydes. |
