<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cycle life characteristics in a lithium ion secondary battery using a negative electrode containing a graphite carbon material. <P>SOLUTION: An negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery includes: a negative electrode collector; and a negative electrode mixture layer arranged on the negative electrode collector and containing crystalline carbon and amorphous carbon as a negative electrode active material.
